Coummuniqué of G33, African Group, ACP and LDCs

In May 2006, four Southern groupings that represent the majority of the developing country members of the WTO issued a common statement against attempts to weaken their proposals on Special Products (SP) and Special Safeguard Mechanism (SSM) in agriculture. The joint communication by the G33, the African Group, the ACP and the LDCs warned that they cannot agree to any WTO deal in agriculture which does not meet their needs of food and livelihood security and rural development.
